Doing good.

Per my email from my specialist Dr Harper my sugars on my new dose of Glyburide look great. She said she's very happy with them. I'm meeting and exceeding the goals...for example:
Fasting should be <95 mine averages 70-85
Before meals should be 100 or less...Mine are always 90 or less
2 hrs after meals less then 120  and I'm always anywhere from 85-110
To be honest I feel so good right now. Just happy to have this controlled. And feeling so blessed by God. I can't even begin to describe how thankful I'm. We would have nothing without him <3

Glyburide again...

So over the weekend I followed through as my Dr requested and didn't take any medication and just watched my diet...Didn't work...Actually i should probably say epic fail... So Today when I called in my numbers they told me to stay home with someone and try the med again in a lower dosage. So I enlisted my sister as my babysitter, had her drive me to work so i could purchase some strips so I'd be good and ready to test my sugar if it started dropping and popped the pill... GOOD NEWS! I didn't have any lows all day! It helped me maintain my sugar in perfect numbers. I'm still nervous about tonight but I've got my alarm set for 1:30 am to wake up and check just to make sure I don't drop into another low. Fingers crossed this will work!

Glyburide stinks

So I went and seen my specialist Wed. She had me switch from my metformin to glyburide.  She told me to start on 10 mg a day 5 with breakfast, and 5 at bedtime. Well the first day I was so sick and my sugar's were dropping low. Then last night I woke up at about 1am trembling and shaking in a cold sweat and could barely form a sentence.  I tested my sugar and it was 34!!!  So Alan ran and grabbed me some peanut butter and crackers and Orange juice, and I started chugging it and eating the crackers. My sugar was hardly even raising at all. So I called the On Call  Dr at my OB and he was very concerned. Apparently just a few points lower and I would have been in the Coma Zone. He said f it got that low again call 911, and he wanted me to set my alarm to check it every 30 minutes-1 hr. Well we didn't really sleep for a while then started dozing a bit and waking up checking it. After drinking over 1/2 gallon of oj and eating 15..15! peanut butter crackers it was barley peaking 100. NOT NORMAL! Typically this would sent me in the upper 100's if not 200's!  I woke up this morning and my fasting BS was 85. So The Dr told me to try taking just 2.5 MG of the meds. So I took half one ate my breakfast and within an hour was feeling shakes, checked my sugar and it was 44. So called the Dr again and they said to track my sugars all day and call back in this afternoon.
After tracking all day my sugar never went over 100....I even test my body and ate a whopper jr, fries and a chocolate fudge pop things I could not have eaten in the past without shooting my sugar up. Nothing. Called the Dr back and they said don't take anything tonight and then I'm to call the On Call Dr in the morning with the fasting numbers and she will decided if I need to take it then. They are thinking the original dose was just to high and when I took the 5 then the 2.5 this morning it was all in my system at the same time.
Needless to day it's been a stressful two days. I'm just praying they decided to let me stay on the metformin. I may just put my foot down and say I'm not taking the glyburide period. I don't like feeling like this all the time and I know it can't be healthy for the baby.

Why HELLO Second Trimester!

So I'm now in my 14th week and we have been in the glorious second trimester for about a week and a half now. Its been a long 13 weeks to get here. So lets play catch up just a bit...
We had a bad scare at 6 weeks. I woke up for work and went to the bathroom to find i was spotting. We called Dr Holman and he said to come in. When we went in he said we may be able to see the heart beat but all we seen was the gestational sac and yolk sac. As much as they told me this was normal I was freaking out.
Well the next morning I work up with what I thought was a miscarriage. Very Heavy and consistent with cramping. Dr Holman told me to stay home on bed rest and see what happened. I stayed home for the next 2 days then sat and Sunday and rested. The bleeding did finally stop though the same afternoon it had started. So that following Tuesday I was 7 weeks and we went in and saw the tiniest little thing  and the heart beat was 113. I was so relieved!!!

7 WEEKS

We then got to go back at 8 weeks to do our release ultrasound from Dr. Holmans office. The heart rate had increase to 157 and it had little arms . I was already in love <3

8 WEEKS

So Dr. Holman released us and we had our first appt with Dr Mcarthur my OB on March 29th. She confirmed out due date was Oct 23rd and we got to see the little bean again.

10 WEEKS

Everything looked great but my Sugar was a little high and my A1c was 5.8 and they like it under 5.7. So because of my history with PCOS and this they decided she would be co-treating me with Regional OBGYN who specializes in High Risk patients. She said I'm not really high risk at this time but it does put me at a higher risk of dealing with Diabetes. So my first appt with them is Tomorrow @ 9am. I'm hoping they do an ultrasound because I can't wait to see my little bean again.
